Job Description

Canva is hiring a Senior Manager for Sales Compensation Systems and Analytics, based in San Francisco, where the company's US operations are housed. The role oversees the platforms, data, reporting and quarterly rhythm that drive Canva's worldwide sales incentive programmes. It lies where compensation design, analytics and technology converge. It is a senior individual-contributor post with wide influence, and while the holder may mentor colleagues and lead cross-team efforts, managing people is not the central task.

The holder acts as the business owner of the incentive compensation platform, covering setup, data movement, connections, permissions, release cycles, supplier relations and performance. They manage compensation data from source through to payment, including eligibility, quotas, territories, credit allocation, rates and payouts, and run regular audits, reconciliations and exception reviews. Each quarter they prepare the sales compensation business review, which examines attainment, the link between pay and performance, payout-to-revenue ratios and plan health, then convert findings into executive-level slides. They also run annual and quarterly plan rollouts, including participant mapping, compensation letters, distribution and final records, and keep the whole commission process ready for audit.

The posting asks for eight or more years across sales compensation, incentive platforms, analytics or adjacent finance and operations work, including hands-on sales compensation work. Candidates should have directly run an enterprise incentive compensation platform, be strong analysts with advanced spreadsheet skills, and have used Tableau or Snowflake. SQL is strongly preferred. The posted target band runs from $181,000 to $260,000.

Responsibilities

  • Own the incentive compensation platform end to end, including setup, integrations, releases and vendors
  • Manage compensation data from source to payment, covering eligibility, quotas, territories and crediting
  • Run regular audits and reconciliations, review exceptions, and push for lasting root-cause fixes
  • Prepare the quarterly sales compensation business review with fact-based plan health insights
  • Create dashboards and set the metrics and data standards used for decisions
  • Oversee annual and quarterly plan rollouts, from participant mapping to compensation letters and records
  • Keep documentation and controls audit-ready across the commission process

Requirements

  • Eight or more years across sales compensation, incentive platforms, analytics or adjacent finance and operations work
  • Hands-on sales compensation skills, including quotas, crediting, accelerators, guarantees and payout processing
  • Direct experience running an enterprise incentive compensation platform
  • Analytical ability to frame unclear questions and check complicated calculations
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets, plus Tableau or Snowflake experience
  • Capacity to lead cross-team projects, influence without formal authority, and shape data into an executive narrative

Qualifications

  • SQL skills, which are strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Canva's own product is preferred, and a commitment to becoming highly proficient in it is required

  • Health plans
  • 401(k) plan with employer contributions
