Job Description

This Senior Product Data Analyst role at Salla helps steer product development through evidence. The analyst works alongside product managers, engineers, designers and data colleagues to turn how customers behave and how products perform into clear choices. The role owns analytics for one product area from beginning to end, covering success measures, measurement plans, experiment readouts, launch monitoring and suggested next steps.

Salla's products are intricate and run at large scale, and many questions arrive with no established playbook. The analyst has to get up to speed on the domain quickly, combine messy and partial inputs, and judge how much analysis a given decision needs. The listing stresses that knowing when to dig deeper and when to proceed is as important as the analysis itself. Being willing to decide on incomplete information while keeping analytical discipline is central to the job.

Core tasks include turning product questions and hypotheses into KPIs and success criteria, owning analytics across funnels, feature uptake, engagement, conversion, retention and segmentation, and carrying out deep dives to locate root causes and product openings. The analyst plans and interprets split tests and impact studies, selects metrics and safety limits, and checks tracking plans for new features. Building dashboards and self-service tools that monitor product health is also part of the work, as is supporting junior analysts.

The listing expects four-plus years in product or data analytics, or a comparable tech role, along with advanced SQL and firm grounding in experimentation, including statistical power and common pitfalls of split testing. It also expects fluency with business-intelligence software like Looker, Metabase or Tableau, plus Python or R. Arabic fluency, time spent in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere in the GCC, and familiarity with Amplitude, Mixpanel, dbt, ClickHouse or BigQuery count as advantages. No salary is stated.

Responsibilities

  • Convert questions and hypotheses from product groups into measurable KPIs and success benchmarks
  • Own analytics across funnels, feature uptake, engagement, conversion, retention and segmentation
  • Carry out intensive investigations to pin down why results moved and where products can grow
  • Plan and interpret split tests and impact studies, selecting metrics and safety limits
  • Develop and verify tracking plans for new features
  • Track how launches land and create dashboards plus self-serve tools that keep an eye on product health
  • Present results, commercial effect and compromises in plain terms, and help newer analysts grow

Requirements

  • Four-plus years in product or data analytics, or similar work within tech or digital products
  • Advanced SQL and experience with large, complicated datasets
  • Solid command of product measures: funnel steps, cohort behaviour, conversion, retention and how features get taken up
  • Practical record running product experiments; comfortable with hypothesis tests, confidence ranges, power calculations and frequent split-test traps
  • Used to working with event-level product logs, tracking specs, verifying implementation and running quality checks
  • Competent with business-intelligence software (Looker, Metabase or Tableau) and comfortable with Python or R
  • Good product instincts and self-direction on analysis when the path is unclear
  • Clear communicator who handles stakeholders well and steers product choices with evidence

Qualifications

  • Arabic, plus time spent working in Saudi Arabia or elsewhere in the GCC, counts in your favour
  • Background in online retail, marketplace, fintech or subscription software counts in your favour
  • Familiarity with Amplitude, Mixpanel, dbt, ClickHouse or BigQuery is an advantage
  • Grounding in causal inference, quasi-experiments or Bayesian techniques would stand out
