Job Description

Paddle is hiring a Senior Product Designer for its Core Experience team, which is responsible for the shared foundations that every Paddle product depends on. Sign-up flows, onboarding, the shared design system and the broader seller journey all sit within that remit. The position is full-time and remote, and the designer works inside a cross-functional group with product managers and engineers.

The designer is not tied to a single product surface. The position instead concentrates on the joining-up layer that gives Paddle a unified feel: how a seller registers, is introduced to the platform, moves across offerings, or touches an AI-assisted or integrated capability. The team also shapes how Paddle links to the broader tooling ecosystem, and the designer helps determine where AI meaningfully improves the seller journey and where it adds friction.

Responsibilities include carrying foundational experiences from discovery and concepts through delivery and later refinement. Standards, principles and reusable building blocks are the designer's output, keeping things coherent as the platform expands. The designer also leads thinking on how information is organised, how users interact, accessibility and modular components. Research and customer feedback are used to test decisions.

The role also sets craft and quality standards across the product organisation, uses storytelling to build support for cross-cutting projects, and mentors other designers through critique and collaboration. The work spans many teams, so the designer must create consistency without slowing anyone down.

Applicants should show a strong portfolio demonstrating high-level UI craft and problem solving in complicated domains. Owning and growing a design system is central, covering components, documentation, governance and adoption. The designer should understand implementation limits, responsive layouts and accessibility, and be fluent with Figma and tools such as Claude Code. Experience in high-scale consumer or B2B products, SaaS or fintech, onboarding flows, or platform design is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Carry full responsibility for designing sign-up, onboarding and the touchpoints tying Paddle products together
  • Author standards, design principles and reusable components for use across every Paddle surface
  • Help shape interaction patterns and surfaces for integration and AI features
  • Direct design decisions covering how information is structured, how people interact, inclusive access and modular components
  • Use research, data and customer input to validate design choices
  • Set and maintain craft and quality standards across product teams
  • Persuade stakeholders through a clear narrative to back work that touches many teams
  • Mentor fellow designers through feedback and critique

Requirements

  • A portfolio showing strong UI craft and end-to-end product design
  • Demonstrated experience building, maintaining and governing a design system
  • Curiosity about AI in product and design, and a clear view of where it adds user value
  • Comfort aligning many teams and balancing competing needs
  • Confident, clear communication with stakeholders at every level
  • Practical understanding of implementation limits, responsive design and accessibility
  • Polished interface craft and prototyping fluency in Figma, Claude Code or comparable software

Qualifications

  • Track record shaping large-audience consumer or business software
  • Background in SaaS or fintech
  • Experience with onboarding journeys or foundational platform design

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Comprehensive package with equity, pension schemes, medical cover and wellbeing programmes
  • Open holiday allowance plus four months of paid family leave for every parent
  • Annual budget for learning, plus recurring training both internal and external
  • Remote working, hub-based working, or a blend of both
