Grafana Labs is seeking a Senior Product Designer, Knowledge Graph to shape the user experience for the context layer of Grafana Cloud. Grafana Labs provides a widely trusted observability platform built on open standards that helps over 10,000 organizations manage telemetry, streamline incident response, and gain unified visibility across complex systems. In this position, you will design interfaces for the platform's entity catalog, entity graph, and root cause analysis workbench. Your primary focus will be transforming intricate telemetry, infrastructure, and service data into clear, navigable experiences that empower engineers and automated agents to diagnose systems rapidly without manually writing queries. You will join an established product design group of over 25 professionals and collaborate closely with product management, engineering, technical writing, and go-to-market teams.
This opportunity suits an experienced B2B designer who excels at distilling complex, rapidly changing technical information into intuitive workflows. Ideal candidates thrive in distributed settings where proactive communication, user research execution, and cross-functional alignment are vital. Beyond core design tasks, you will help mentor team members, contribute to design methodologies, and refine team practices as the company scales.
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive ways for customers to explore and visualize how their system components connect to one another
- Translate data and research findings into digestible interfaces that reduce operational complexity
- Tailor user experiences to accommodate multiple distinct technical audiences and perspectives
- Partner cross-functionally with engineering, product management, technical writing, and GTM teams
- Balance business goals, customer feedback, technical constraints, and product priorities when making design decisions
- Document user pain points, design directions, UX trade-offs, and detailed feature enhancements
- Execute and contribute to qualitative and quantitative research initiatives alongside users and researchers
Requirements
- At least seven years of relevant design experience building enterprise or B2B software products, ideally for technical users or developers
- Demonstrated portfolio showcasing effective designs for complex products in fast-paced environments
- Experience conducting qualitative research in complex fields to understand user needs
- Proven ability to balance business objectives, research insights, and technical limitations in design decisions
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills across multiple time zones to ship and evolve products
- Experience working in a fully remote, fast-paced environment that relies on transparency and autonomy
Qualifications
- Experience designing complex, data-dense interfaces focused on clarity
- Ability to quickly grasp technical domains and associated user workflows
- Domain knowledge related to cloud infrastructure, observability, or database monitoring
- Experience helping design teams improve their practice, cross-functional collaboration, and organizational impact
