Job Description
GitLab operates an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, serving over fifty million registered users and more than fifty percent of the Fortune one hundred companies. The organization is seeking a remote Senior Product Manager for Agentic Source Code to shape how software development teams transition from initial planning to writing code within an artificial intelligence-native environment.
This position is suited for a professional who possesses deep knowledge of the software development lifecycle and wants to address the challenge of maintaining accurate links between product specifications and actual code changes over time. The role sits within the product organization and involves close collaboration with engineering, design, and multiple product areas such as plan, source code management, code review, and artificial intelligence.
The successful candidate will help pioneer spec-driven, human-in-the-loop development experiences where human intent and autonomous agents work together efficiently. GitLab maintains an all-remote working environment and follows an asynchronous culture. The base salary range for United States residents spans from one hundred thirty-nine thousand two hundred dollars to two hundred thirty-five thousand two hundred dollars in United States currency, determined by factors such as geographic location, experience, and interviews.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute product strategy connecting planning, source code management, and artificial intelligence-assisted tools.
- Design workflows allowing bidirectional movement between project intent and code implementation.
- Partner with engineering and design departments to create human-in-the-loop and autonomous development workflows.
- Collaborate on prototypes and demonstrations concerning spec-driven planning and autonomous development modes.
- Analyze customer feedback, product usage statistics, and market context to prioritize features that deliver rapid customer value.
- Coordinate across multiple product areas including plan, source code management, code review, and artificial intelligence to minimize workflow friction.
Requirements
- Experience as a product manager focusing on developer tools, DevOps solutions, source code management, planning software, artificial intelligence-native offerings, or related lifecycle products.
- Direct, hands-on exposure to branches, merge requests, code review, continuous integration, continuous deployment, and releases.
- Technical depth sufficient to comprehend developer workflows and engineering tradeoffs.
- A data-forward methodology for guiding product prioritization and measuring customer impact.
- Capacity to navigate ambiguous environments lacking established market patterns or product categories.
- Demonstrated experience building or shipping artificial intelligence tools and agents rather than merely using them.
