Job Description

GitLab is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join its Tenant Scale area within Infrastructure Platforms. As an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, GitLab serves over 50 million registered users and more than half of the Fortune 100 companies, helping them build and ship secure software efficiently. In this remote position, you will focus on shaping how the platform supports large and complex customers navigating multi-department, multi-project, and multi-region growth.

This role centers on architectural choices that make tenant data portable, scalable, and prepared for a unified deployment model spanning GitLab.com, Dedicated, and eventually Self-Managed environments. Your work will bridge product strategy, infrastructure capabilities, and user requirements, addressing horizontal SaaS scaling, tenant migration between environments, workload isolation, and cellular architecture development. During your first year, you will partner directly with engineering peers and technical stakeholders to take this initiative from concept to a functional deployment foundation.

Ideal candidates possess a background in technical product management, platform architecture, scalability, or cloud services, along with the ability to translate complex system constraints into actionable product plans. GitLab operates globally with a heavy emphasis on an asynchronous working style, long-term platform planning, and high-performance collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Guide product direction for tenant scale and unified deployment capabilities across GitLab.com, Dedicated, and future deployment models
  • Establish product requirements for the unified deployment platform and its foundational hosting capabilities
  • Work closely with engineering and technical teams to translate system constraints into actionable product strategy
  • Collaborate with peer product managers across adjacent infrastructure and platform areas
  • Communicate with internal and external users regarding operational readiness, isolation, regional deployment, and compliance
  • Facilitate discussions on platform unification, deployment consistency, scalability, and tenant encapsulation
  • Synthesize complex technical concepts into clear documentation, priorities, and roadmap milestones
  • Share product ownership responsibilities within a collaborative team model

Requirements

  • Experience managing product portfolios in technical domains such as cloud services, platform architecture, scalability, infrastructure, or software delivery
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with deeply technical engineering teams regarding system design and deployment constraints
  • Familiarity with how platform-based systems and SaaS architectures scale, including multitenancy, autoscaling, horizontal scalability, production readiness, and workload isolation
  • Experience engaging with stakeholders on complex regional, compliance, or operational requirements
  • Skill in translating ambiguous technical challenges into prioritized product strategies
  • Background collaborating with cross-functional partners in a distributed environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining infrastructure topics to diverse audiences

Qualifications

  • Transferable experience from engineering, technical support, or adjacent product roles relevant to large-scale platforms
