Job Description
Beacon Biosignals works on brain health technology spanning clinical trials and diagnostics. This senior product manager role takes ownership of the roadmap and daily product choices for the clinician and site web application, the main tool clinicians, research sites, and trial teams use to work with the company's machine-learning-driven brain health platform. The role is remote, with a stated preference for people near the Boston headquarters or another hub such as New York City, and the position sits under the Manager, Web Applications.
The product manager helps set direction for the next generation of the application alongside the team manager, then converts that direction into quarterly plans the team can deliver. The job means keeping the product consistent with the hardware, data flows, machine learning models, and other software it connects to. It also involves documenting which features serve both diagnostic and trial workflows and which should stay specialized, coordinating with clinical, scientific, regulatory, and commercial groups, running usability studies with time-pressed clinicians and site staff, and leading client demonstrations of current functionality and upcoming plans.
Changes follow formal design control procedures in a regulated environment, with Ketryx as the tool used for that. The posting also expects clear communication of tradeoffs and risks, and fluency with current AI tools for drafting, analysis, and quick prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Take charge of the product plan and everyday product calls for the clinician- and site-facing web app
- Draft quarterly roadmaps and requirements the team can act on
- Define shared and specialized functionality across diagnostic and trial workflows, and record the reasoning
- Partner with engineers, designers, and data scientists on feasibility and on presenting model results to users
- Lead usability tests and user interviews with clinicians and site staff
- Capture requirements through design controls in Ketryx
- Run client demonstrations of current capabilities and the roadmap
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management, including 3+ years on web-based software
- A bachelor's-level education in business, engineering, or a neighboring field, or comparable experience
- Background with technically sophisticated offerings such as data platforms, analytics software, or ML-driven apps
- Ability to balance priorities among engineers, designers, and non-technical stakeholders
- Familiarity with current AI tools for drafting, analysis, and prototyping
Qualifications
- Healthcare, life sciences, or biotech background, which is strongly preferred
- Background building regulated products under design control, e.g., medical device software or clinical trial platforms (IEC 62304 cited); strongly preferred
- Track record creating interfaces for clinicians, clinical sites, or specialist users
Benefits
- Equity, PTO, and other benefits included in total compensation
