The organization seeks a Senior Professional Services Technical Architect, Security to guide the creation and deployment of secure enterprise environments for clients across AMER. This professional will evaluate sophisticated security architectures, direct migrations involving legacy tools such as Jenkins, and deploy GitLab security features to help customers satisfy regulatory frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and NIST 800-53. Candidates must possess deep expertise in secure reference architectures spanning identity management, cloud security, vulnerability management, and deployment models including SaaS and Self-Managed environments.
Throughout the engagement lifecycle, the architect collaborates closely with Program Managers, Engagement Managers, and Professional Services Engineers from pre-sales security scoping through delivery and enablement. This position suits individuals who can communicate technical details effectively to both engineering teams and executive stakeholders within an all-remote, asynchronous working environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and direct secure GitLab solution implementations for client projects, encompassing security risk assessments and threat modeling
- Advise customers regarding GitLab SaaS, Self-Managed, and Dedicated architecture choices based on compliance and security needs
- Conduct technical discovery to identify infrastructure, compliance, and security goals to shape delivery plans
- Manage migrations from legacy version control and CI/CD platforms, along with application security tools like SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx, Veracode, and GitGuardian
- Assist Engagement Managers with statements of work, pre-sales planning, and security-focused sales scoping
- Coordinate implementation tasks across multidisciplinary teams and relay client requirements to product groups to shape roadmap decisions
- Mentor partners and professional services consultants while producing training materials, documentation, delivery kits, and enablement sessions
- Collaborate with Support, Training, Customer Success, and Program Management teams during client engagements
Requirements
- Demonstrated history of delivering secure enterprise architectures across DevSecOps, application security, cloud security, and secure cloud infrastructure
- Practical background in migrating source code management and CI/CD systems equipped with security controls
- Experience providing strategic guidance on GitLab SaaS, Self-Managed, and Dedicated deployment tradeoffs
- Hands-on utility with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools including Terraform and Ansible
- Familiarity with embedding security controls straight into CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in GitLab security scanning features such as Advanced SAST, DAST, Container Scanning, Secret Detection, and Dependency Scanning
- Competency in executing application security tool migrations, mapping findings, managing risk acceptance, and building validation frameworks
- Familiarity with standards and frameworks including NIST 800-53, ISO 27001, SOC 2, FedRAMP, and GDPR
- Understanding of contemporary security threats encompassing generative AI risks, supply chain security, and zero-trust design
- Working knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications and AI-assisted development tools like GitLab Duo
- Capacity to articulate technical details and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate autonomously and cooperatively inside an asynchronous, remote work setting
