Job Description

GitLab, an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, seeks a Senior Renewal Operations Manager to join its remote team. In this senior individual contributor role, you will act as the primary business partner for the Renewals team, owning and scaling the operational workflows that govern predictability, measurement, and efficiency across the entire renewal lifecycle. Operating within the CX Operations group and reporting directly to the Director of CX Operations, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional partners including Finance, Sales, Revenue Technology, and Revenue Analytics to optimize forecasting, tooling, and data hygiene.

This position suits an analytical professional with a strong background in revenue or sales operations who thrives in an all-remote, values-driven environment. You will lead through influence rather than direct reports, transforming complex challenges into structured processes, building scalable automation, and driving retention analytics. Key responsibilities span from designing end-to-end renewal operating models to managing capacity planning and maturing support programs. While base salary and exact ranges depend on factors like geographic location and experience for US applicants, the position offers comprehensive employee benefits and equity options.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and enhance the complete renewal operating model from initial identification and risk management through quoting, closing, and post-renewal data hygiene.
  • Establish and refine operational rhythms focused on efficiency and continuous process improvement within the renewal business.
  • Partner with cross-functional groups to define and track retention metrics, covering gross and net retention, churn, and downgrade drivers.
  • Collaborate with Revenue Technology, Revenue Analytics, and Finance teams to improve Salesforce workflows, CRM data flows, subscription records, and billing systems.
  • Scale renewal motions through automated workflows, self-service insights, alerts, and standardized playbooks to lower manual effort.
  • Handle renewals planning, coverage models, capacity modeling, segmentation, and target setting.
  • Direct the Renewal Operations case-management program to cover intake, routing, triage, resolution tracking, and root-cause analysis.
  • Document established processes and mentor colleagues on renewal operations mechanics.

Requirements

  • Experience in Renewals Operations, Revenue Operations, Sales Operations, management consulting, strategy, or a comparable analytical and problem-solving function.
  • Hands-on background managing consumption and subscription renewal mechanisms, covering forecasting and retention metrics.
  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, with the ability to construct models from the ground up.
  • System-thinking capabilities using Salesforce for pipeline management and renewal reporting.
  • Sound commercial understanding of complex renewal structures, such as co-terming, multiyear commitments, amendments, price adjustments, and approvals.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Structured Query Language or comparable data-querying tools
