Job Description

This is a full-time, remote, field-based Senior Rider Onboarding Associate role on a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension. The post is part of the UK and Ireland Commercial operation, with working bases in Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and London. Its purpose is to secure enough riders to meet demand across the marketplace.

The associate joins the Rider Enablement team, which underpins rider supply across the UK and Ireland. The job is split into two areas. The first is strategy, design and growth. It means improving how physical rider onboarding hubs operate before, during and after each session, widening onboarding space across the UK and Ireland using consistent processes, and drafting a 12-month plan for in-person onboarding that balances expansion against time and cost.

The second area is field work. The associate travels around the region to host in-person onboarding, closes rider gaps in hard-to-serve areas alongside the Supply team, and plans supply for busy trading periods. The role also works with Rider Support, Product and onboarding colleagues to tackle live problems and turn what is learned on the ground into longer-term fixes.

Suitable candidates have an operations background in tech firms, start-ups or food-delivery logistics, or have worked as a Deliveroo rider. They should be self-starters who can operate on their own out in the field and adjust to shifting priorities. Good listening and influencing skills are needed to manage groups of applicants and to work with internal product teams. A valid UK driving licence, access to a vehicle for areas with limited public transport, and flexibility to travel early or late are required.

Responsibilities

  • Improve the format and workflow of physical rider onboarding hubs.
  • Set up, run and widen onboarding spaces across the UK and Ireland.
  • Draft and deliver a 12-month plan for in-person onboarding.
  • Run in-person onboarding sessions and back regional hubs.
  • Find and close rider shortfalls in hard-to-serve zones, using demand forecasts with the Supply team.
  • Plan and carry out rider supply for peak trading periods.
  • Resolve live operational issues with Rider Support, Product and onboarding teams.

Requirements

  • Track record in operations within tech, start-up or food-delivery logistics, or as a Deliveroo rider.
  • Capable of self-directed work out in the field and flexing with shifting priorities.
  • Strong listening, communication and influencing skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence and your own vehicle for underserved locations.
  • Willingness to set off early or finish late when travelling.

Qualifications

  • Light experience with Slack, Looker, Salesforce or G Suite.
  • Working fluency in Portuguese or Arabic would be a plus.

Core Skills

Benefits

  • The company pays in full for travel, lodging and mileage on a personal car used for field work.
