Job Description
Elastic's Streams UI team needs a senior engineer to refine the interface of Fleet and Streams. Fleet is the hub for managing Elastic Agent from inside Kibana. Streams is a newer product for log data that covers ingesting, structuring, parsing, enriching and retaining records. The role is on-site in the United States and suits engineers keen on making the interface clearer and more appealing.
Work involves building UI components with TypeScript, React and Node.js, linking front-end parts to back-end services, and running usability sessions to act on feedback. The engineer owns complex, loosely defined work from framing to shipping: choosing the technical approach, dividing tasks and delivering. The engineer leads architecture debates that weigh backward compatibility, speed and scale, sets coding practices, builds reusable parts, reviews code and watches for security weak spots.
Collaboration is asynchronous across time zones, happening transparently on GitHub and Slack. The engineer teams up with designers and product leads to translate mockups into functioning components while keeping visuals consistent, and contributes ideas to interface brainstorming.
