Job Description
Fieldguide seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its Financial Audit team to help automate assurance and audit practices within cybersecurity, privacy, and environmental, social, and governance sectors. Based in San Francisco, CA and operating remotely, the company builds software intended to modernize commercial trust and capital markets. In this role, the employee will focus on building agent-driven experiences and reimagining financial audit workflows from the ground up using modern technologies and artificial intelligence tools.
This position requires an individual who enjoys writing code daily, operating in dynamic and ambiguous startup environments, and collaborating directly with product managers, designers, and financial audit subject matter experts. The candidate will manage major workstreams for large customer onboardings, influence technical strategy regarding agentic systems, and participate in mentoring and interviewing team members.
Responsibilities
- Design and construct agent-driven functionalities for financial audit procedures while determining appropriate levels of human oversight.
- Manage comprehensive end-to-end workstreams associated with onboarding major customers.
- Write and deploy code immediately upon joining to assume responsibility for key product areas.
- Partner daily with product managers, designers, and financial audit domain experts to solve complex problems.
- Contribute to technical decisions regarding agentic systems, AI tooling, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor fellow engineers and participate in the candidate interview process.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a strong full-stack engineer who actively writes code daily.
- Ability to thrive within fast-paced, ambiguous startup settings.
- High degree of ownership and initiative.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools and curiosity about agentic systems.
- Capacity to rapidly learn and internalize complex domain concepts.
- Collaborative approach to working alongside product, design, and domain specialists.
Qualifications
- Prior background working in financial services, audit, accounting, or compliance.
- Previous experience developing AI or agent-driven product experiences.
- Knowledge of TypeScript, React, GraphQL, Node.js, and PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
- Background in document processing or infrastructure engineering.
