Fieldguide is hiring a full-time Staff Software Engineer for its Financial Audit team. The company builds automation and streamlining software for assurance and audit practitioners within cybersecurity, privacy, and environmental, social, and governance sectors. This is a hands-on, remote engineering role focused on creating agent-driven financial audit workflows from the ground up. The position suits a seasoned full-stack developer who uses AI coding tools as a core part of their daily work and is comfortable solving complex, ambiguous engineering problems. The professional in this role will define technical direction, design agentic experiences, collaborate with product and design teams, mentor peers, and help scale the engineering group.
Responsibilities
- Establish technical direction for agentic financial audit experiences by balancing autonomy, reliability, and auditability
- Resolve complex and ambiguous engineering challenges without a predefined path
- Design and construct agent-driven workflows from scratch, identifying where AI autonomy or human judgment is necessary
- Collaborate with product and design teams to shape product direction and strategy
- Mentor and support the growth of fellow engineers through code reviews, pairing, and communication
- Participate in the interview process to help scale the engineering team
Requirements
- Track record of driving large, complex projects from ambiguous problems to production as a full-stack engineer
- Experience establishing technical direction at a team or organizational level
- Ability to operate effectively when requirements are unclear
- History of influencing product and design decisions as a technical collaborator
- Active use of AI coding tools as a core part of daily work
Qualifications
