Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Wallets, Liquidity & Bridging team within the Platform organization. In this remote-first role, the engineer will help create and run the wallet platforms, liquidity coordination, and bridging architecture that facilitate crypto asset transfers across more than 55 blockchain protocols for a massive user base. The position entails designing distributed backend services that handle on-chain transactions from creation to reconciliation.
This opportunity is well-suited for professionals experienced in building scalable, reliable production backend services and distributed architectures. The ideal candidate has familiarity with blockchain ecosystems and a strong background in service-oriented engineering. Team members collaborate closely with cross-functional partners like Trading, Custody, and Staking to integrate wallet functions into downstream offerings.

- Collaborate with Trading, Custody, Staking, and other cross-platform groups to integrate wallet tools with downstream offerings and establish technical contracts.
- Execute architecture updates and service decomposition to transition legacy software into modular platform services.
- Maintain engineering standards by performing code reviews, offering design feedback, and sharing knowledge regarding architectural patterns.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Go and hands-on background in designing and operating service-oriented distributed systems.
- Demonstrated experience building, scaling, and maintaining production backend services that have strict correctness and reliability standards.
- Familiarity with blockchain concepts such as transaction building, on-chain data indexing, or cross-chain integrations across networks like Ethereum, Bitcoin, or Solana.
- Experience breaking down monolithic systems into scalable microservices or contributing to platform architecture relied upon by multiple teams.
- Ability to collaborate across teams, communicate technical trade-offs, and advance projects from design to production autonomously.
- Ability to use generative AI responsibly while maintaining human oversight for efficiency, cost, and quality improvements.
