This position suits an experienced backend engineer interested in building scalable infrastructure that empowers other teams to access, process, and transform data for machine learning, analytics, and end-user products. The person in this role will handle the entire lifecycle of data systems, from foundational storage and processing layers to robust pipelines, frameworks, and internal applications.
Day-to-day work involves designing data services, building SDKs for platform interaction, delivering self-service tooling for pipeline management, and establishing security and observability controls. - Collaborate with security, compliance, data analysis, and machine learning teams to transform functional requests into scalable design patterns.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of background in backend software engineering with practical experience building and running data systems or pipelines in production.
- Working knowledge of Go, Python, or Java for backend programming to construct data-serving services at scale.
- Familiarity with data infrastructure concepts like columnar storage systems, scale-out architectures, key/value stores, and caching layers.
- Production experience utilizing tools and frameworks such as SQL, Airflow, Spark, or Kafka.
