Coinbase seeks a Senior Software Engineer (EAA) to join its Enterprise Applications and Architecture organization within the EAA Compliance CXAE team. In this full-time remote role, the engineer will construct AI-driven tools, surfaces, and applications designed to optimize compliance workflows and enhance the efficiency of compliance agents. Coinbase operates as a remote-first enterprise that utilizes quarterly in-person working sessions designated as surges.
The position involves developing end-to-end user features, integrating third-party vendor platforms, and architecting scalable technical solutions in coordination with design, product, security, and data teams. This individual will also take ownership of Tier-1 system reliability, mentor engineering colleagues on development standards, and apply generative AI responsibly to improve workflow metrics.

Responsibilities
- Build end-to-end user-facing features using React, Golang, and cloud technologies to create AI-first compliance tooling
- Evaluate, select, and integrate third-party tools and external vendors into the compliance platform
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, security, data, and engineering teams to deliver technical solutions
- Design platform enhancements that establish reusable capabilities across multiple internal organizations
- Manage reliability for Tier-1 compliance systems by preempting production issues
- Mentor team members on full-stack design, coding standards, testing, deployment pipelines, and observability
Requirements
- More than 5 years of software engineering experience building large-scale systems using Golang and React
- Experience shipping user-facing features on cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, or BuildKite
- Direct background in assessing, implementing, and managing third-party vendor integrations
- Operational experience with high-traffic platforms involving rate limiters, caching, load balancing, circuit breakers, and distributed debugging
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, SQL or NoSQL databases, and service communication patterns like gRPC and GraphQL
- Experience working across distributed teams and communicating technical concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Ability to utilize generative AI responsibly to enhance workflow efficiency and quality while maintaining human oversight
