Job Description
Canonical is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Kubernetes product group. The post is remote and full-time, open to candidates in EMEA and the Americas. The team creates two kinds of software: operators that manage the full life cycle of mission-critical components, and add-ons that let projects slot into a Kubernetes cluster without operational overhead. The engineer tracks new Kubernetes capabilities and carries the best open source ideas into features for end users.
The senior engineer shares accountability for results across team, department and company, collaborates with fellow leads, mentors colleagues and advises on their careers, and works alongside industry peers and partners to ship suitable solutions for customers. Additional tasks include writing high-quality code for new features, resolving issues with the community and working with a dispersed team. Trips lasting two to four weeks support internal and external events.
Applicants should love open source, Linux, Go, Python and Kubernetes, and speak and write clearly. Canonical describes itself as a remote-first, founder-led, profitable company, and holds in-person team sprints twice a year.
