Job Description
Wise is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its Recommend team in London. The team builds the experience that lets existing customers refer friends, family and contacts to Wise, along with the onboarding journey for referred customers and the reward mechanisms that go with it. The engineer will help evolve and scale the recommendation platform and its reward systems for customers around the world.
The role is full time and on-site. Work covers designing systems, APIs and product experiences, from referral platforms through to the first international payment a referred customer needs. The group includes engineers, analysts and designers who work together every day to improve the recommendation journey. Engineers are expected to take end-to-end ownership of their projects, working independently on customer problems and driving work through to the agreed goals.
The ideal candidate has five or more years of experience with Java, Kotlin or another JVM language, and strong skills in the Spring framework, relational databases and distributed, concurrent systems such as Kafka. Writing testable code, using unit and integration tests, following good coding practice and taking part in code reviews are all expected. Responsibilities
