Tanium is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer for its SLED team, which serves state and local governments and higher education institutions. The role covers pre-sales discovery, platform demos and Proof of Value engagements, and requires explaining technical capabilities to audiences ranging from agency CIOs to campus security analysts. Travel of 40 to 60 percent is expected to meet customers in person.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery meetings, platform demos and Proof of Value engagements for SLED customers
- Turn public sector mission, budget and compliance needs into technical solutions
- Support RFP and RFI responses and speak at public sector conferences and user-group events
- Train SLED-focused partners, integrators and cooperative purchasing resellers
Requirements
- At least six years of operational or selling experience in endpoint operations or security
- At least four years in customer-facing or customer support positions
- Significant pre-sales or value-based technical selling experience in large enterprise or public sector settings
- Familiarity with public sector compliance frameworks such as CJIS, HIPAA, FERPA and StateRAMP
Qualifications
- Hands-on experience in endpoint security, IT operations management or regulatory compliance
- Knowledge of scripting languages
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics or engineering, or equivalent experience, is required
