Elastic is seeking a Senior Solutions Architect - Federal Civilian to join its public sector team in the United States. Elastic provides a search AI platform that helps government agencies and businesses convert massive, varied data into real-time operational intelligence.
In this position, you will act as the principal technical strategist for Federal Civilian accounts, assisting organizations with IT modernization, cybersecurity, and enterprise search mandates. You will collaborate closely with account executives throughout the entire sales lifecycle, building executive trust, delivering product demonstrations, and designing custom architectural prototypes using the Elastic Stack.
This role is ideal for technical professionals with a strong background in enterprise software presales who want to drive high-impact federal missions. Ideal candidates possess a blend of federal domain knowledge and strategic technical influence. The position requires periodic in-person collaboration at the company office in Virginia and up to 30 percent travel within the territory.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead technical advisor for assigned Federal Civilian accounts throughout the sales process
- Translate agency modernization goals and operational pain points into valuable architectural solutions using the Elastic Stack
- Establish lasting relationships with program managers, enterprise architects, CIOs, CISOs, and CTOs
- Deliver tailored technical demonstrations, proofs of concept, and custom prototypes for search, observability, and security use cases
- Collaborate with Federal System Integrators, value-added resellers, and strategic partners on joint account strategies and RFPs
- Relay federal-specific requirements such as compliance standards and security controls to internal product and engineering teams
- Represent Elastic at regional public sector events, user groups, and technology summits
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Solutions Architect, Systems Engineer, or Technical Presales Consultant in enterprise software or federal high-tech
- Familiarity or direct experience supporting federal mission areas such as healthcare, fraud oversight, data and analytics, financial systems, or international affairs
- Ability to travel up to 30 percent within the Federal Civilian territory
Qualifications
- Design experience with AI systems, foundation models, and closed large language models
- Expertise in cybersecurity use cases such as SIEM, XDR, and Zero Trust strategies
- Background in machine learning, data resilience, and failover architectures
- Demonstrated skill in leading technical evaluations and analysis of alternatives
