AlphaSense is seeking a Senior/Staff Product Designer to join its growing design team and help shape the future of an AI-native market intelligence platform. AlphaSense builds technology that combines domain-specific artificial intelligence with a large collection of business documents to assist professionals in extracting insights and executing workflows. This individual contributor role suits an experienced designer with a strong background in interaction design, systems thinking, and delivering user-centered products.
In this position, the selected professional will steer strategic design initiatives, turning data-heavy and complex challenges into intuitive, scalable experiences. The candidate will work closely with product managers, engineers, and artificial intelligence teams to build cohesive workflows spanning from initial concepts to final execution. Key responsibilities include creating high-fidelity prototypes, translating customer feedback into actionable product directions, and contributing to the organization's design systems. Furthermore, this role acts as a mentor to other designers, helping elevate execution standards and craft consistency across the product suite.
Responsibilities
- Produce high-fidelity prototypes, interaction models, and end-to-end experiences to align stakeholders on product vision
- Convert user insights gathered from usability testing, interviews, and surveys into actionable product direction
- Drive design strategy for major initiatives, connecting user needs with business goals
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to build scalable user experiences
- Contribute to the design system and evolve patterns to raise design quality across the team
- Design for complex systems rather than individual screens to guarantee product consistency
- Monitor industry trends and artificial intelligence capabilities to improve product offerings
- Collaborate with engineering during development to advocate for usability and design quality
Requirements
- More than 10 years of product design experience with a portfolio demonstrating interaction design and systems thinking
- Deep expertise in shaping end-to-end customer workflows and simplifying data-rich challenges
- High proficiency in design and prototyping tools to communicate through flows and high-fidelity prototypes
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams alongside working knowledge of modern web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Ability to leverage artificial intelligence within the design process from ideation to iteration
- Demonstrated capability to lead complex projects end-to-end and navigate cross-functional ambiguity
- Experience mentoring and developing other designers
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities for technical and non-technical stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Product Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field
- Experience with React or similar frameworks
- Background in financial services, investment workflows, or data-heavy software as a service products
