Job Description
This is a full-time, on-site role within the Data team of Druva's Foundation group. The team builds and operates tooling that scans petabytes of information to extract insight, and it creates indexes and views over semi-structured data for analytics. The team also tracks new AWS services and storage tiers and adopts them where they help.
The Senior Software Engineer is a technical leader who owns low-level design and implementation for services within a product. The role refines requirements with product management, proposes design changes with product architects, and works with other product owners to see features through at a high standard. Responsibilities include building large, intricate features and architectural upgrades, proposing answers to hard design questions, and pointing out engineering gaps the team should address.
Mentoring is central. The engineer guides junior engineers through feature design and build work, reviews their designs and code, and takes charge of complex escalations. The posting also expects technical writing and presentations for both internal and external audiences.
Engineers are expected to work AI-first, using generative AI tools across design, coding and testing while keeping sound engineering judgment. Requirements

- Extensive coding in Go, Python, C, C++ or Java on Unix or Linux
- Strong grounding in computer architecture, data structures, algorithms and design concepts
- AI-first working style with practical use of generative AI in development
Qualifications
- Data modeling for OLAP workloads
- Scalability design and query tuning
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- B.Tech, B.E., M.E. or M.Tech in Computer Science, or equivalent
