Druva, a cloud-native SaaS platform provider offering air-gapped and immutable data protection, is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer focused on engineering escalations. This position centers on product reliability, resiliency, stability, and sustenance for all software-as-a-service clients. The person in this role will troubleshoot and resolve software defects, deploy code fixes to production, and investigate cloud production issues to perform root cause analysis. This opportunity suits an experienced software professional with a background in development and sustenance who wants to work on complex distributed systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Daily duties involve proposing technical solutions for complex design problems, assisting customer-facing groups with proofs of concept and implementation projects, and validating upcoming releases in staging environments. The engineer will partner closely with product management, cloud operations, development, and support teams to improve product quality, usability, and supportability. Druva serves nearly 7,500 customers globally, securing data across cloud, on-premises, endpoint, and edge environments.
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve product bugs, delivering code changes to production environments
- Investigate cloud production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and deliver solutions while collaborating with extended development teams
- Propose architectural changes and solutions to complex design challenges for specific workloads
- Support sales, technical support, customer success, and professional services teams with proofs of concept and implementation projects
- Validate future software releases in staging environments using real customer use cases to ensure product quality
- Collaborate with scrum teams and product management to shape feature design and product enhancements
- Communicate cross-functional updates regarding known issues and product updates
Requirements
- 6 to 9 years of combined experience in development and sustenance roles
- Extensive hands-on programming experience using Python or Go on Unix, Linux, or Windows platforms
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and design concepts
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to articulate technical solutions
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal stakeholders and customers
- Background in enterprise software development with knowledge of threading, network input/output, disk input/output, data transformations, data integrity, systems management, administration, and monitoring
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Technology, Bachelor of Engineering, Master of Engineering, or Master of Technology in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent field
- Exposure to Office 365, VMWare, Hyper-V, Nutanix, file systems, or network-attached storage technologies
- Experience building complex, scale-out, distributed systems using microservices or service-oriented architecture
- Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably AWS
- Knowledge of the backup or storage domain
