Cloudflare is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Global Resource Management team. Cloudflare operates a massive global network that accelerates and protects internet applications for millions of customers ranging from individual creators to major enterprises.
In this role, the engineer will tackle fundamental system architecture obstacles, design solutions focused on clarity and organization, build highly available and scalable systems, and maintain high standards of code quality. This position is suited for individuals with strong system design skills who prefer curiosity over bureaucracy and want to help scale platform operations efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Tackle deep, cross-cutting engineering challenges affecting multiple Cloudflare products
- Design architectural solutions to minimize fanout and streamline system dependencies
- Propose system architectures, draft technical specifications, and write robust, maintainable code
- Conduct code reviews, provide feedback on technical designs, and enforce security and reliability standards
Requirements
- Possess five or more years of professional software development experience
- Build and operate mission-critical, high-scale distributed systems
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in Go or another modern systems programming language
- Show proven experience designing and operating scalable, highly available cloud-scale services
- Understand organization, dependency management, and resource orchestration in multi-tenant environments
Qualifications
- Be familiar with Cloudflare core technologies including edge computing or global networking
- Have experience working with Infrastructure as Code tools and related technologies
