Job Description
Immutable is hiring a hands-on software engineer for Audience, its growth platform for game studios. The job is full-time. Sydney-based staff spend three days a week in the office, while remote colleagues may work from home or use global hubs. The company started in 2018 and has its base in Sydney, Australia. Its stated mission is to help games reach the players they have earned.
Audience is a marketing technology platform that shows studios which marketing actually brings players in. The engineer works on attribution and measurement, a capability being built from scratch that covers click logging, identity capture, attribution at install and conversion postbacks. The engineer also contributes to Engage, a lifecycle and messaging engine handling campaign tooling, journey design, segmentation, deliverability and split tests, and to an AI growth product that reviews a studio's marketing and suggests its next best action.
The role suits an engineer who takes features from the customer problem all the way to a shipped product that paying studios rely on. It sits between engineering, product and data, requires working closely with the founders, product, design and data teams, and involves talking with studios about what gets built. The work is AI-native, with tools such as Cursor, Claude Code and in-house coding agents taking part in the pull request loop.
The posting requires at least four years of hands-on work as an engineer on product teams, plus strong hands-on TypeScript for frontend and backend, and Golang. It values empathetic communication, mentoring junior engineers, a user-first approach and comfort with ambiguity. Startup experience and an interest in gaming are useful. The stack includes TypeScript, Go, Next.js, React, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes and a customer data platform built on BigQuery.
