To expand these operations, the company seeks a Staff level engineer to steer the creation of a next-generation data platform.

This position centers on shaping technical strategy for the entire data ecosystem while partnering closely with product and engineering leaders. The incoming professional will architect scalable systems handling real-time analytics, machine learning workloads, and batch processing. Ideal candidates possess extensive technical backgrounds in building massive data environments and enjoy mentoring developing engineers.

Daily work involves writing production-grade code, defining data governance standards, and evaluating software integration choices. The selected individual will report directly to the Senior Director of Data Engineering and collaborate directly with product, security, and legal teams. This remote opportunity suits experienced data infrastructure experts capable of guiding cross-functional architectural roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a modern data platform supporting real-time and batch integrations alongside advanced analytics
  • Partner with company leadership and product teams to build technical solutions that align with business goals
  • Establish standards for data modeling, ingestion, enrichment, and storage across data warehousing tools
  • Develop production-grade code across the technology stack and provide team mentorship
  • Collaborate with security and legal departments to enforce data protection regulations and platform fault tolerance
  • Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and integrate appropriate vendor technologies
  • Coordinate with data science and machine learning groups to support artificial intelligence infrastructure

Requirements

  • Have at least 8 years of professional background in data engineering, data architecture, or related disciplines
  • Accumulate a minimum of 5 years working at the Principal Engineer level
  • Demonstrate experience designing and operating large-scale data systems using Kafka and associated tools, ClickHouse, Tinybird, and Snowflake
  • Show proficiency working with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Possess expertise in data security, governance, and maintaining compliance standards
  • Exhibit communication and collaboration skills sufficient to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Hold a Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Display industry recognition or visible contributions to data engineering such as published articles or open-source projects
