Deliveroo is seeking a Software Engineer II, Full-Stack - New Verticals to join its team in London on a full-time basis. Deliveroo is part of DoorDash, connecting consumers with grocery and non-grocery merchants through its online marketplace and technology solutions.
In this position, you will write web-based applications, tackle logistical challenges, and shape the architecture and codebase of the platform. You will collaborate across engineering groups, guide technical choices, take part in the hiring process, and mentor peers to foster team efficiency. Responsibilities
- Write and review code across any scope produced by your team
- Improve code structure, system architecture, operational readiness, and visibility
- Simplify the maintenance and operation of production systems

- Own larger bodies of work, assist with design and technical choices, and influence the team roadmap

Requirements
- Experience writing web-based applications in any language with an interest in learning Go, Ruby/Rails, Python, Scala, or Rust
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Ability to write readable, well-designed, and well-tested software
Qualifications
- Experience with web architecture at scale of 20,000 requests per minute and above
- Experience utilizing NoSQL data backends and other systems like Redis, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, or Memcache
- Experience solving logistical problems using software
