Databricks is hiring a remote Solutions Architect for its Digital Native Business, Named Accounts team. In this role, the professional will report to the Field Engineering Manager and collaborate with sales staff, product teams, and external users to design architectures and solutions built on the company platform and APIs.
The position centers on guiding customers through implementation strategies, competitive landscapes, and best practices. Key duties include consulting on big data workflows, building proofs of concept for strategic projects spanning machine learning, data science, data engineering, and SQL analysis, and validating integrations with third-party software, cloud services, and internal tools. Additionally, team members support peers, champion open-source projects like Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow, and travel to regional clients as needed.
Databricks offers a local salary range between $180,000 and $247,500 USD per year, alongside potential eligibility for equity, annual performance bonuses, and regional benefits.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the sales department to supply technical leadership and help clients resolve business challenges using Databricks
- Consult on big data architectures and construct proofs of concept for strategic initiatives involving machine learning, data science, data engineering, and SQL analysis workflows
- Validate integrations across cloud platforms, custom tools, and third-party applications
- Collaborate with fellow Solutions Architects to support users and team members
- Promote, become an expert in, and recruit contributors for open-source projects including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow
- Travel to client locations within the assigned region
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in a technical architecture, data science, data engineering, pre-sales, or consulting capacity
- Demonstrated background constructing distributed data systems
- Proficiency in programming and debugging with Python and SQL
- Experience building solutions utilizing public cloud providers such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
- Expertise in data engineering technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka, or data science and machine learning technologies such as pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
Qualifications
- Degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research
