Pinterest operates a digital platform where global users discover creative ideas, plan projects, and seek inspiration. The company is currently hiring a Sr. Manager, Ads Product Policy to oversee its ad, merchant, shopping, brand safety, and Spam policy team. This role reports to the Senior Director, Product Policy and focuses on enabling responsible revenue growth while keeping the user community safe.
In this position, the selected individual will craft and refine commercial policies, lead policy specialists, and collaborate with departments such as Engineering, Legal, Product, Sales, Public Affairs, and Enforcement Operations. Key responsibilities include guiding internal teams on policy matters, addressing major escalations, and representing the organization to industry stakeholders. Candidates must be comfortable navigating ambiguity, communicating with executive leadership, and providing constructive feedback.
This is a full-time position based in San Francisco, requiring physical office attendance one to two times per quarter. Qualified applicants must possess significant professional experience in commercial policy development. Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and implement Pinterest advertising, shopping, and commercial safety policies
- Lead, hire, coach, and manage a team of policy specialists and managers
- Partner with cross-functional divisions including Legal, Engineering, Product, Sales, and Enforcement Operations
- Act as a subject matter expert for monetized policies and handle high-profile escalations
- Engage with external industry stakeholders to represent company policy stances and gather feedback
- Collaborate with the Senior Director, Product Policy to establish overarching policy strategy and frameworks
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of professional experience
- Demonstrated expertise in creating commercial, ad, or shopping safety policies at a senior level for a large online platform
- Experience building relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
- Experience managing high-profile policy escalations
- People management, coaching, or formal leadership experience
- Ability to address difficult issues and communicate with C-suite executives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant subject such as public policy, sales, research, or equivalent practical experience
