The Notifications & Growth Platform organization builds the infrastructure that supports user communications and growth initiatives across the company, enabling product teams to connect with audiences via push notifications, email, and in-app channels at scale.
The company seeks a Sr. Staff Software Engineer for the Notifications & Growth Platform team in San Francisco. This individual contributor role focuses on shaping technical strategy, establishing multi-year roadmaps, and making architectural decisions regarding orchestration, scheduling, targeting, and multi-channel delivery systems.
This position requires extensive engineering experience, including senior individual contributor leadership on complex production platforms. Professionals joining this team will collaborate with cross-functional partners in product, data science, design, and engineering, while utilizing artificial intelligence tools to accelerate daily workflows. The role is hybrid, requiring physical presence in an office for collaboration once or twice every six months, and is open to US-based applicants.
Responsibilities
- Develop the technical vision and long-term roadmap for the Notifications & Growth Platform organization.
- Partner with product, data science, design, and engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Make architectural decisions to improve scalability, reliability, and delivery quality of notifications and growth systems.
- Establish success metrics and operating cadence aligned with organizational OKRs.
- Incorporate artificial intelligence tools to accelerate exploration, drafting, analysis, and synthesis.
Requirements
- Possess ten or more years of software engineering experience.
- Bring meaningful experience as a Staff, Senior Staff, or equivalent individual contributor building complex production systems.
- Demonstrate experience building or partnering on machine learning, AI, or generative AI-adjacent systems.
- Show proven technical leadership across multiple services and teams.
- Demonstrate strong communication and stakeholder influence abilities.
Qualifications
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
- Bring prior experience with notifications and growth platforms.
- Demonstrate the ability to analyze data to uncover user growth opportunities.
