Dialpad seeks a Senior Software Developer in Test for its Contact Center quality assurance group. Dialpad operates an AI platform centered on customer experience, providing real-time voice and digital solutions that help organizations handle issues, advance deals, and automate workflows.
In this position, the engineer acts as both a developer of scalable test frameworks and a quality leader driving optimal outcomes. The individual will oversee product quality end-to-end, writing API, UI, capacity, security, and performance evaluations. Responsibilities include building tools to test non-deterministic AI behavior, collaborating with product managers and developers, mentoring team members, and defining critical key performance indicators.
This role suits an experienced engineer who brings strong programming expertise, familiarity with cloud environments, and a passion for automated testing methodologies. Candidates should possess a background in SaaS test automation frameworks and be comfortable communicating across departments and geographic locations.
Responsibilities
- Plan and execute functional, regression, and end-to-end evaluations across user interfaces, APIs, and databases
- Develop and analyze test executions to measure microservice capacity and performance under key product scenarios
- Drive the test strategy for modern AI Contact Center systems including AI Routing, Digital Agent workflows, and Agentic Analytics
- Utilize agentic coding tools to generate test cases and construct test software
- Analyze test failures in detail to support quick product and testing resolutions
- Define relevant key performance indicators and share results across teams and stakeholders
- Engage in design discussions to address edge cases and integrate test hooks before development commences
- Write maintainable code and mentor fellow engineers on development best practices
Requirements
- Approximately 6 or more years of relevant software development experience, including creating test automation frameworks for SaaS applications
- Strong programming skills in a top-tier language such as Python or Java
- Extensive utilization of AI coding agents for test generation and optimization
- Demonstrated experience designing and building scalable test automation frameworks
- Proficiency applying diverse testing methods including functional, integration, load, and performance evaluations
- Deep familiarity with cloud technologies and testing REST services
- Experience injecting tests into continuous integration pipelines
- Polished written and verbal English communication skills with cross-functional ability
