Job Description
Wise is recruiting a Senior Technical Account Manager for North America, based in Austin on a full-time, on-site basis. The position acts as the technical point person for major Wise Platform partners once they go live, particularly Tier 1 partners, which the posting indicates means roughly US$1 million or more in annual recurring revenue. The TAM forms the technical side of the account team, working alongside the account manager.
Responsibilities include getting to know how each partner's integration is built and where its technical plans are headed, and flagging risks, technical debt and chances to improve integration health. When blockers arise across APIs, webhooks, authentication and data flows, the TAM investigates using logs, monitoring tools and documentation. During serious incidents the TAM works with integration support and engineering, then owns the partner-specific follow-up. The job also includes helping partners adopt new specifications through change management, tracking service-level agreement performance, and passing partner feedback to product teams. Building repeatable processes and tooling as the function grows is part of the mandate.
Applicants should bring eight-plus years in account-facing technical work such as solutions engineering, post-sales engineering or technical customer success, with experience looking after complex enterprise accounts over time rather than only through go-live. Comfort with APIs, webhooks, authentication and databases is needed, along with experience guiding customers through API migrations, authentication changes or deprecations. The person must influence senior technical stakeholders without formal authority, explain complex topics to engineers and non-specialists alike, and balance urgent work against longer-term goals. Experience in payments, fintech or other API-first environments, SQL, observability platforms like Kibana, Looker or Prometheus, and scripting is valued.
Responsibilities
- Act as the technical relationship owner for key post-launch partners, particularly Tier 1 accounts
- Learn how each partner's integration is built and where its technical plans are headed, and spot risks and technical debt
- Investigate blockers across APIs, webhooks, authentication and data flows using logs and monitoring
- Work with integration support and engineering on serious incidents, then follow up with partner-specific fixes
- Guide partners through change management when they adopt new technical specifications
- Track service-level agreement adherence, monitoring performance and integration best practice
- Feed partner feedback into product roadmaps
- Help build repeatable processes, tooling and documentation for technical account management
Requirements
- Eight-plus years in client-facing technical work such as solutions engineering, post-sales engineering or technical customer success
- Experience keeping large enterprise accounts technically healthy across long periods
- Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, auth flows, databases and current integration norms
- Hands-on troubleshooting of API-based integrations
- Experience leading customers through migrations, authentication changes, platform updates or deprecations
- Ability to influence senior technical stakeholders without direct authority
- Clear explanations for both engineers and non-technical audiences
- Strong prioritisation across multiple high-value accounts
Qualifications
- Experience in payments, fintech, banking or other API-first environments
- SQL and observability tools such as Kibana, Looker or Prometheus
- Coding or scripting experience and the ability to read implementations
- Back-end troubleshooting, including reading production logs
- Experience with high-scale, business-critical integrations with defined SLAs
- Experience collaborating with product and engineering groups spread across regions
