Job Description
Mozilla IT is hiring a remote, full-time Staff Application Engineer to design, construct, and take ownership of the Salesforce environment that supports sales and revenue operations across the company's enterprise product lines. The listing says the work starts at the outset of the Sales Cloud rollout, with an implementation partner through launch, before ownership moves fully in-house.
The engineer leads technical direction for the platform, makes architecture calls, and reviews proposals and bespoke code written by staff inside and outside Mozilla. Responsibilities include data structures, account and deal models, sales workflows, role hierarchies, and record sharing. The engineer also builds connections to NetSuite, BigQuery, and a contract-management system, and plans lead-to-cash processes such as quoting, contracting, entitlements, renewals, and finance hand-offs.
After go-live, the engineer maintains platform health and governance, release practices, and support processes, and handles difficult production problems and vendor escalations. Additional goals include AI-assisted workflows and Model Context Protocol connectors that let sales staff query CRM data through AI assistants while keeping governance and accountability intact.
Required background includes eight or more years of hands-on work in Salesforce development, administration, or solution architecture. Candidates should have deep knowledge of declarative configuration (Flow logic, validation rules, approval routing, permissions) and should be comfortable reading, writing, and checking Apex, SOQL, and Lightning Web Components. Designing data and security models across several business units is expected, and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is listed.
Preferred extras include Salesforce architect or developer certifications, CI/CD and automated testing experience, and familiarity with integration platforms such as Workato, Celigo, or MuleSoft. Benefits include performance bonuses, medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement contributions that vest immediately, and paid parental leave. No salary is stated.
