Job Description
GitLab is hiring a remote, full-time Staff Global Partner Programs Manager to shape and execute strategic ecosystem initiatives. In this individual contributor role, the successful candidate will transform ecosystem strategies into structured, repeatable frameworks that support partners across customer acquisition, commitment, and consumption phases. GitLab provides an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, trusted by over fifty million registered users and more than fifty percent of the Fortune 100 to deliver more secure software efficiently. Team members are expected to integrate artificial intelligence as a core productivity tool into their daily operations.
The person in this position will oversee global partner program workstreams such as partner sourcing, services attach, renewals, managed service providers, global systems integrators, hyperscalers, and marketplace models. Responsibilities include defining program roadmaps, establishing clear partner guidelines, coordinating requirements across cross-functional departments, and tracking performance metrics related to pipeline growth and revenue. During the first year, the focus will center on building a comprehensive roadmap, streamlining partner engagement rules, and setting up consistent performance reporting.
This role suits professionals with extensive background in channel strategy, alliance management, partner programs, or ecosystem operations who excel at leading through influence rather than direct authority. Candidates should bring strong cross-functional coordination skills, analytical judgment, and a practical approach to execution. GitLab operates as a remote-first organization with an asynchronous work culture, and offers employment benefits including flexible paid time off, equity compensation, parental leave, and a growth and development fund.
Responsibilities
- Own the strategic roadmap, priorities, and execution for assigned global partner programs spanning acquisition, commitment, and consumption motions.
- Coordinate milestones, dependencies, and risks across ecosystem sales, partner operations, finance, legal, marketing, services, customer success, product, and enablement teams.
- Enhance the partner journey from onboarding and capability building through co-selling, activation, adoption, and expansion based on feedback.
- Design and roll out partner incentives including margins, rebates, market development funds, deal registration, and consumption programs.
- Maintain clear program guides, eligibility criteria, and compliance documentation in coordination with legal and finance groups.
- Develop playbooks, training materials, and launch assets alongside enablement and regional teams to drive adoption.
- Establish success metrics for partner-sourced pipeline, services attach, adoption, and incentive utilization, reporting on them consistently with revenue operations.
- Utilize performance data to suggest investment updates, minimize manual work, and escalate complex decisions appropriately.
Requirements
- Demonstrated professional background in partner programs, channel strategy, alliances, ecosystem operations, or a comparable go-to-market function.
- A proven history of advancing complex programs from initial design through launch, adoption, measurement, and iteration.
- Solid comprehension of partner economics including co-selling, incentives, deal registration, market development funds, and engagement rules.
- Capacity to guide global, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority by setting clear ownership and escalation paths.
- Strong analytical capabilities to connect program activities directly to revenue, pipeline, and customer outcomes.
- Clear written communication skills capable of simplifying complex commercial concepts for partners and sales teams.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with SaaS, cloud computing, DevOps, or artificial intelligence partner ecosystems.
- Experience with consumption-based pricing models or hyperscaler marketplace and co-sell programs.
