Job Description

This Staff Product Manager post at Salla covers shipping and fulfilment. Upward of 100,000 merchants operate on the platform, and every sale eventually needs a physical parcel to reach a buyer. The role takes responsibility for the shipping stack and its economics, including courier connections, routing rules, cash-on-delivery reconciliation, exception handling and partner performance.

Scope reaches beyond last-mile delivery to stock positioning, storage, order picking and packing, first-mile collection and returns. The product manager is the lone point of accountability for a dedicated engineering squad and answers for what each parcel costs and what margin the platform keeps on it. The listing names four domains: shipping products, partner integrations, fulfilment beyond the last mile, and shipping economics.

Core work includes setting the strategy and roadmap, ranked by retention of merchants and profit per parcel, deciding which carrier handles each order at what service level, cost and price to the merchant, and lifting measurable delivery reliability. The manager builds the integration layer for bringing on new providers, with status mapping, retries, fallbacks and monitoring. The role also determines which shipping features are free and which are paid, and moves volume between providers when performance data supports a change.

The listing expects a product career of at least seven years and a record of running a shipping, fulfilment or order-management product. Professional-grade command of both Arabic and English is mandatory, and the position is on-site, with openness to relocating to Saudi Arabia. No salary is stated.

Responsibilities

  • Own the shipping and fulfilment strategy and roadmap, ranked by how well they keep merchants and what each parcel contributes
  • Decide which provider carries each order, along with its service level, cost and merchant price
  • Improve delivery reliability by tracking first-attempt wins, exceptions, returns to origin and COD matching
  • Build the integration layer for onboarding providers, including status mapping, retries, fallbacks and monitoring
  • Grow the offering beyond last-mile work, picking capabilities based on their pull on merchant retention
  • Determine which shipping capabilities are free and which are paid
  • Co-own metrics with analysts and move volume across providers when results point that way

Requirements

  • Proven ownership of a shipping, fulfilment or order-management product serving many businesses, with measurable results
  • Commercial fluency in shipment economics, including rate cards and what drives cost per parcel
  • Real depth beyond last-mile work in two or more of these: stock positioning, storage, picking and packing, first-mile collection, reverse logistics or cross-border trade
  • Technical grounding in integrations, webhooks, status mapping, retries and reconciliation
  • Experience as the lone accountable owner for one engineering squad
  • A product career of at least seven years
  • Professional-grade command of both Arabic and English

Qualifications

  • Strongly preferred: experience building product on a partner network, selling partner capacity while building the company's own capability
  • GCC logistics knowledge gained in practice is valued above theory
  • Willingness to relocate to Saudi Arabia
