Job Description
GitLab is seeking a Staff Program Manager, CCO Programs to act as the founding hire within a growing programs function supporting the Chief Customer Officer. GitLab operates as an intelligent orchestration platform for DevSecOps, helping organizations boost developer efficiency, minimize security risks, and speed up digital transformation.
In this role, you will take ownership of cross-functional strategic programs tied to the CCO's top priorities. These include go-to-market transformation, retention and renewal initiatives linked to annual recurring revenue goals, executive engagement for key accounts, and field-to-product feedback loops. You will translate high-level executive direction into structured workstreams, coordinate senior stakeholders across multiple departments without direct authority, and ensure programs deliver clear business outcomes.
This position suits an experienced program manager with a background in customer-facing or revenue operations functions who thrives in an environment requiring high-stakes tactical decisions under ambiguity. You will report directly to the CCO while the broader team is established, helping build the operating model for the function.
GitLab employs team members globally in a largely asynchronous setting. Base compensation for United States residents ranges from $139,200 to $235,200 USD, determined through interviews, background, market data, and geographic location, and excludes bonuses, equity, and benefits.

- Identify blocked work, unaddressed risks, and delays to provide the CCO with an accurate real-time overview of the portfolio
- Advise on scope adjustments, plan re-sequencing, or termination of programs failing to yield value
- Monitor decisions and action items stemming from executive meetings to guarantee complete follow-through
- Evaluate program performance using data metrics linked to retention, expansion, adoption, and ARR results while presenting executive summaries
- Establish standard frameworks for reporting, tracking, and handoffs, refining strategies based on field insights
Requirements
- Demonstrated background leading intricate, cross-functional strategic initiatives at the executive level
- Professional background in customer experience, go-to-market, or revenue-facing sectors such as Customer Success, Renewals, Sales, or Revenue Operations
- Proficiency in retention, expansion, and adoption workflows and their relationship to annual recurring revenue
- Capability to influence executive stakeholders and secure commitment without formal authority
- Strong data proficiency to assess program health, identify operational breakdowns, and propose data-backed solutions
- Effective written and verbal communication skills spanning executive narratives and detailed execution
