This remote position involves designing pragmatic security solutions, conducting threat modeling, creating automated detections, and guiding incident response.
This role suits an experienced technical professional who operates comfortably in an AI-forward environment and enjoys collaborating across engineering, compliance, and risk teams. The security team utilizes automation and artificial intelligence to minimize routine operational tasks and elevate product velocity. Candidates will work closely with development teams, mentor peers, and help shape technical strategy within a dynamic fintech ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and drive security architectures across internal applications, product systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Perform threat modeling on newly introduced product initiatives and legacy setups.
- Collaborate alongside engineering personnel to integrate security protocols throughout the development lifecycle.
- Build, calibrate, and automate detection alerts, observability pipelines, and incident response procedures utilizing AI agents.
- Take part in and lead incident response duties through an assigned on-call rotation.
- Assist with compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and PCI.
- Mentor fellow engineers and disseminate security best practices internally.
Requirements
- Possess at least eight years of professional background in software engineering, security engineering, or a related field.
- Demonstrate advanced, practical experience leveraging AI tools, automation, and agents to scale security operations.
- Bring hands-on technical expertise in cloud infrastructure platforms, with a preference for AWS.
- Maintain practical familiarity managing incident response procedures and participating in on-call rotations.
- Exhibit strong communication abilities, technical judgment, and a high degree of accountability.
Qualifications
- Past work background in cryptocurrency, fintech, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Familiarity with product security principles and influencing architectural design.
- Experience conducting offensive security, vulnerability research, AI-assisted security testing, or security observability.
- Working knowledge of Bitcoin and enthusiasm for learning more about the space.
- Comfort utilizing Git and GitHub for team collaboration and version control processes.
