Job Description
Waabi is hiring a Staff Vehicle Program Manager to act as technical point person for one vehicle manufacturer partner. The full-time role is listed as remote and centers on integrating Waabi's autonomy stack into a partner's vehicles, starting with program setup and running through to driverless operation.
The manager converts company objectives into a joint program plan with the partner. That plan spans both companies' deliverables, interdependencies and critical path. Hardware, Embedded, Onboard, Infrastructure and Autonomy groups must be balanced, and trade-offs are decided when one group's schedule affects another's. The job runs from executive meetings to hands-on debugging with engineers on test vehicles, with the aim of spotting risks early and escalating them clearly.
Trust-building with the OEM happens at every level. The manager maintains Waabi's technical bar while adjusting to how each partner operates, and writes status summaries for Waabi executives and the partner's leadership group. Each OEM relationship receives a dedicated owner, a structure the company says keeps attention focused and protects partner confidentiality.
Candidates should have at least eight years of engineering work in vehicle development, self-driving systems, ADAS or robotics, including three years leading technical integration efforts. A bachelor's-level degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering, computer science, systems work or a closely related field is needed. Offices are named in Pittsburgh, Dallas, Toronto and San Francisco, and pay is described as competitive and includes equity.
