For this hybrid position, employees situated near these office hubs are expected to work on-site approximately two to three days per week.
The Talent Development Leader for Foundational Talent Products will spearhead the creation of an enterprise capability framework covering individual contributor and leadership paths. This strategic position involves overseeing the complete product lifecycle of learning solutions, from initial user discovery and prototyping to scaling and maintenance. The person in this role will define capability taxonomies, collaborate with learning technology teams on system integrations, and incorporate AI-native competencies directly into the workflow.
This role suits experienced talent development professionals, technical instructional designers, or learning architects who possess expertise in modular architecture, generative AI integration, and agile delivery. Team members at Gusto are expected to actively engage with AI tools pertinent to their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the product roadmap for the capability framework as a live product incorporating AI-native competencies
- Partner with content designers to build and ship blended learning experiences through iterative development cycles
- Establish the strategic vision for core enablement programs using a hub-and-spoke model
- Own the architectural design for modular content and automated governance standards
- Analyze skill data and validate capabilities alongside HR business partners and executive stakeholders
- Write functional and technical requirements for the capability engine with People Technology teams
- Translate operational priorities into accessible training and guidance for business leaders
Requirements
- Have eight or more years of progressive experience in Talent Development, Learning Architecture, Technical Instructional Design, or Organizational Design
- Demonstrate a track record of building foundational programs from scratch
- Show proficiency in structuring, tagging, and object-oriented content design
- Maintain a secure, reliable internet connection for non-office days while working in a hybrid arrangement
