Cloudbeds is seeking a Tech Lead Data Engineer to shape the technical direction, data architecture, and governance standards for its core analytics platform. Operating as a hands-on data architect and engineering technical lead, this position is responsible for designing warehouse solutions, managing dimensional models, and steering AI-readiness initiatives across a globally distributed team. The company powers hotel operations across 150 countries through a unified platform and has been recognized for excellence by industry awards.
This role suits an experienced professional with a background in cloud data environments, Snowflake administration, advanced dbt implementation, and automated pipeline workflows. The person in this position will act as a foundational technical voice, guiding analytical engineers while collaborating closely with infrastructure, engineering, and data science divisions.
Responsibilities
- Own logical and physical data modeling, warehouse design, and layered curation on Snowflake
- Lead the end-to-end design and execution of data pipelines, API integrations, and orchestration processes
- Embed automated data testing, environment isolation, and deployment standards into Git and CI/CD workflows
- Implement scalable data catalog and data observability solutions to monitor lineage, freshness, and quality
- Tune Snowflake query performance, compute spend, and warehouse sizing
- Provide technical mentorship and design reviews for analytical engineers within an Agile framework
Requirements
- Senior hands-on experience in cloud data environments as a data engineer, data architect, or tech lead
- Experience preparing data structures, semantic models, and feature stores for AI agents and machine learning pipelines
- Deep expertise administering, tuning, and modeling in Snowflake alongside advanced mastery of dbt
- Expert analytical SQL capabilities and strong Python proficiency for data pipelines and scripting
- Practical experience with ingestion and orchestration engines such as Matillion, Apache Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or Fivetran
- Legally authorized to work in the designated location without requiring visa sponsorship
Qualifications
- Exposure to applied AI tooling including Snowflake Cortex, AI Classify, RAG workflows, LLM agents, and MCP servers
- Familiarity with modern business intelligence consumption tools like Sigma or workflow engines like n8n
