Bosch seeks a Technical Expert in Avionics Validation and DO-160G Qualification Testing to spearhead regulatory compliance and environmental evaluation for airborne electronics. This on-site position suits an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in electromagnetic compatibility and aerospace validation. In this capacity, the individual will act as the principal authority for testing activities, direct customer interactions, and guide laboratories toward operational excellence.
The person in this role will interpret certification standards, design testing frameworks, supervise laboratory procedures, and resolve any functional faults. Additionally, the expert will collaborate directly with original equipment manufacturers and regulatory bodies, draft technical proposals, and formulate statements of work. Bosch looks for candidates who can improve measurement accuracy, champion automation initiatives, and ensure robust validation planning for diverse aerospace projects.
Responsibilities
- Translate regulatory and test plan specifications into precise measurement protocols
- Oversee and conduct testing procedures for EMI, electromagnetic compatibility, and environmental factors
- Generate comprehensive evaluation reports to achieve initial approval success
- Partner directly with aerospace manufacturers, tier-one providers, and regulatory authorities during project kick-offs and proposals
- Draft statements of work, project timelines, resource projections, and cost estimates
- Enhance testing infrastructure to maximize measurement accuracy, repeatability, and throughput
- Standardize testing procedures and reporting templates while building automated execution tools
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
- Bring seven to fourteen years of professional background in avionics validation, environmental evaluation, electromagnetic compatibility testing, or aerospace qualification engineering
- Demonstrate a minimum of two years of direct, practical testing experience with RTCA DO-160G standards
- Possess a robust understanding of airborne electronic systems, compliance documentation, and failure analysis
Qualifications
- Familiarity with standards including DO-160G, DO-178C, DO-254, ARP4754A, ARP4761, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, AS9100, and the IEC 61000 series
- Practical background utilizing EMI receivers, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power amplifiers, antennas, and environmental chambers
- Proficiency with vibration shakers, data acquisition units, oscilloscopes, LabVIEW, and Python-driven automation scripts
- Prior exposure within commercial aviation, defense, military aerospace, UAV systems, space electronics, flight controls, or aircraft power systems
