Job Description
Solace is a healthcare company that pairs patients with expert advocates to help them make better decisions and reach better outcomes. The company is at Series C and was established in 2022, with a lean, growing team in the United States. This Technical Lead role is for an experienced engineer who wants to keep writing production code while also developing other engineers.
The job is split between hands-on engineering and people leadership. The technical lead ships production features, owns architecture for major initiatives and defines the bar for code quality, testing and delivery. The same person would manage two to six engineers, hold one-on-ones and performance reviews, and coach colleagues through pair programming and detailed code reviews. Removing blockers for the team, whether they are technical, procedural or cross-functional, is part of the job.
Candidates should bring a long record of building products and be comfortable in ambiguous settings where structure may need to be created. The posting places weight on communication, a bias toward action and the ability to balance coding with management. The stack includes TypeScript, NestJS, TypeORM, Postgres, Redis, React, GCP and a custom component library built on shadcn and Tailwind. Candidates must be US-based, and the listed compensation is USD 200,000 to 230,000 per year.
