Job Description

The Vice President of Technology and Product is a full-time, remote leadership role at M3 USA, supporting MDLinx, an M3 company that builds physician engagement products for pharmaceutical brands. M3 is a Japanese group that provides technology and research solutions to healthcare and reports more than 5.8 million physician members worldwide through its physician websites.

MDLinx is shifting from traditional channels toward an omnichannel engagement model, aiming to reach physicians with the correct message, at a suitable moment and through the best channel. The role sets the product vision and roadmap for physician-facing experiences and pharma engagement products, and leads product, design and engineering together as a single unit reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer.

The work emphasizes quick experiments: turning ideas into working prototypes within days, testing them with physicians and clients, and then scaling, retiring or redeploying based on what is learned. The leader also runs a forward-deployed engineering model in which engineers collaborate directly with business stakeholders and clients, and owns the architecture and first-party data strategy that serve both product and commercial needs.

AI features are a core part of the role, including generative tools for content creation, summarization and medical literature analysis, plus recommendation and real-time personalization engines. The posting asks for 12 or more years of product and engineering experience, including five years leading an integrated team with managers reporting in, and a record of taking a product from concept to first paying users.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for physician-facing experiences and pharma engagement products
  • Set up rapid experimentation so that ideas can move to working prototypes within days
  • Guide application and data engineering teams, both hands-on and through their leads
  • Oversee the forward-deployed engineering model and turn client work into platform capabilities
  • Build recommendation, personalization and predictive models for content and engagement
  • Set the technical direction for a modular, composable platform built for fast deployment
  • Own the first-party data strategy together with the data engineering team

Requirements

  • 12 or more years in product and engineering, with at least five years leading integrated product, design and engineering teams
  • A product taken from concept to first paying users, with measurable results
  • Engagement products with proven retention, such as interactive, community or personalized experiences
  • Experience setting up and running a forward-deployed or comparable embedded engineering model
  • Ownership of architecture decisions for a high-traffic production platform with high-availability needs, with AWS experience preferred
  • Experience shipping LLM applications, recommendation systems or real-time personalization to users
  • Knowledge of event instrumentation, identity resolution, unified profiles and privacy-first activation
  • Experience with A/B testing, feature flags and rollback systems, plus statistical judgment
  • Comfort building with AI coding agents as standard practice, with evidence of their effect on cycle time and output

Core Skills

Benefits

  • Health, dental, life, accident and disability insurance
  • Prescription plan
  • Flexible spending account
  • 401k plan with employer match
  • Paid holidays and vacation
  • Sick days and a personal day
