Job Description
Dialpad, a customer experience platform utilizing real-time voice and digital artificial intelligence, is hiring for an AI Transformation Engineer. This position takes place on-site in India and reports directly to the AI Engineering Manager, requiring availability during morning hours in Indian Standard Time to align with the core team. The selected professional will work alongside a compact technical group to construct production-ready AI solutions, including retrieval-augmented generation architectures, multi-agent workflows, and language model utilities.
The ideal candidate is curious, scrappy, optimistic, persistent, and empathetic. This hands-on position involves writing Python code, integrating enterprise application programming interfaces, and collaborating with business stakeholders to solve operational challenges. Guidance comes from senior team members, supporting rapid technical growth and increasing independence over time.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain production-ready artificial intelligence systems such as multi-agent workflows, retrieval-augmented generation applications, and automated processes
- Lead technical execution for complex projects from initial discovery to deployment
- Construct scalable backend services, evaluation pipelines, retrieval architectures, and application programming interfaces
- Enhance the reliability, performance, and observability of deployed artificial intelligence applications
- Partner with business stakeholders to interpret operational problems and turn them into scalable technical solutions
- Assess emerging foundation models, prompting strategies, and frameworks to recommend adoption
- Participate in sprint planning, architectural reviews, technical discussions, and cross-functional efforts
Requirements
- Possess at least five years of professional background in software engineering, machine learning engineering, artificial intelligence engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Demonstrate strong Python programming capabilities for production systems
- Show deep familiarity with large language models, tool calling, structured outputs, prompt techniques, and application structures
- Bring practical experience in designing and deploying retrieval-augmented generation systems, embedding techniques, and retrieval optimization
- Have hands-on background building agentic workflows using technologies like LangChain, LangGraph, or the OpenAI Agents SDK
- Be capable of integrating external application programming interfaces and enterprise platforms
- Understand software engineering best practices including testing, continuous integration and deployment, monitoring, and containerized cloud applications
- Maintain fluency in written and spoken English communication
