The organization seeks a Chief of Staff for Online Grocery to collaborate directly with the General Manager and a product and R&D team consisting of roughly two hundred members. This position functions as a strategic and operational individual contributor role without direct reports. The individual selected will oversee the business rhythm, enhance decision-making processes, manage executive communications, and support organizational health and culture.
Ideal candidates possess strong emotional intelligence, a high level of organization, and deep familiarity with how engineering, design, and product groups operate. The duties involve planning leadership offsites, partnering across departments on headcount budgets, tracking strategic initiatives, and tackling emerging risks or opportunities before they hinder progress. Travel up to ten percent of the time is required for the position.
Responsibilities
- Manage and continuously improve the business rhythm for the General Manager and the Online Grocery organization
- Streamline decision-making procedures by clarifying decision rights and developing frameworks
- Coordinate content and calendar planning for executive communication with the C-suite and board
- Partner with human resources and finance to oversee headcount budgets
- Facilitate leadership team offsites and design meeting agendas and objectives
- Assist in diagnosing organizational issues and translating engagement surveys into concrete actions
- Launch and direct annual and long-range planning initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of ten years of total professional experience
- Background in R&D through a direct role, an embedded adjacent position, or as a Chief of Staff in an R&D environment
- Previous experience in corporate strategy, operations, finance, or consulting with direct executive exposure
- Ability to travel up to 10 percent of the time
- Located in Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia
Qualifications
- Experience designing and facilitating leadership offsites
- Experience driving organizational, operating-model, or culture changes
- Experience building with artificial intelligence tools such as agents, prototypes, or automations
- Background working inside high-growth and technology-driven companies
