Supabase seeks a Cloud Platform Engineer to join its Cloud Engineering team within Engineering Operations. Operating in a fully remote environment, this role focuses on shaping infrastructure foundations that allow engineering teams to securely and independently build, ship, and operate systems across Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud Platform.
The position involves cloud governance, platform engineering, and hands-on operations. Responsibilities include defining account structures, establishing identity and access management, creating Infrastructure as Code modules, developing security primitives, and building self-service workflows. The engineer will address complex infrastructure challenges by designing pragmatic systems, tools, and standards that scale with the organization.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud governance across AWS and GCP, encompassing identity, account organization, access controls, and guardrails
- Build reusable infrastructure building blocks utilizing Infrastructure as Code for safe and consistent provisioning
- Create self-service capabilities to minimize organizational friction and accelerate engineering workflows
- Manage resource visibility, tagging, ownership inventories, and cross-account billing data
- Develop security primitives such as secrets storage, KMS, certificate management, token vending, and service-to-service authentication
- Handle cloud-level network and operational primitives including IP address management, DNS, and quota or limit alerting
- Build, deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain production systems
- Establish and distribute cloud engineering best practices through documentation, internal tooling, and enablement
Requirements
- Have at least 5 years of experience in platform engineering, cloud governance, and operations
- Possess experience operating production systems at scale and participating in on-call rotations
- Have completed a significant migration project such as rearchitecting account topologies or introducing Infrastructure as Code
- Demonstrate deep knowledge in at least one core area of tooling and ecosystem, software engineering, or operations
- Be comfortable treating infrastructure as software through automation and Infrastructure as Code
- Communicate clearly and work effectively within async, globally distributed teams
