Pavago is hiring a remote, full-time Controller for a growing client organization to direct financial reporting, accounting operations, compliance, and month-end close workflows. Working during U.S. business hours, this leadership position requires a professional who pairs technical accounting skills with strategic financial planning and operational oversight. The chosen candidate will collaborate with executive management, operations, auditors, and finance colleagues to guarantee precise financial records, robust internal controls, and scalable procedures.
Daily duties include managing financial close targets, overseeing journal entries and reconciliations, generating GAAP and IFRS-compliant financial statements, and delivering executive insights. The role also involves designing internal controls, coordinating external audits, collaborating with FP&A on budgets and cash flow, and mentoring the accounting team. Candidates should enjoy balancing meticulous accounting oversight with broad financial leadership.
Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes aiming for a five-business-day timeline
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, payroll allocations, depreciation schedules, and intercompany transactions
- Compile profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements following GAAP and IFRS standards
- Deliver executive reporting packages, variance analyses, financial commentary, and dashboards to support board and investor needs
- Design and enforce internal accounting controls and handle PBC requests for external audits
- Partner with FP&A staff on annual budgets, forecasting, scenario planning, and capital planning
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, working capital, and debt compliance
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the accounting team to drive accuracy and operational efficiency
- Lead initiatives for ERP implementations, workflow optimization, and accounting automation
Requirements
- Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
- Accumulate at least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, and financial reporting
- Show hands-on experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or QuickBooks Enterprise
- Display advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
Qualifications
- Earn a CPA, ACCA, or MBA
- Bring prior experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or Accounting Manager
- Demonstrate past involvement in ERP implementations or mergers and acquisitions integrations
- Have industry background in SaaS, professional services, or real estate
- Possess familiarity with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker
