Supabase seeks a Customer Solution Architect Team Lead to guide a group of Customer Solutions Architects supporting the Americas East Coast region. In this remote position, the leader will oversee both personnel development and client outcomes, helping clients ranging from early-stage startups to established enterprises adopt the Postgres development platform. This role suits an experienced technical leader with a strong background in relational databases and customer-facing engineering who enjoys mentoring global teams. Responsibilities include hiring and coaching staff, collaborating with sales and product divisions to scale technical motions, establishing onboarding frameworks, and stepping in during complex architectural reviews or escalations. The successful candidate will help drive adoption for paid Team and Enterprise accounts while shaping pre-sales discovery, proof-of-value onboarding, and long-term expansion strategies.
Responsibilities
- Hire, mentor, and develop a globally distributed team of Customer Solutions Architects serving as technical advisors
- Partner with sales, product, and engineering groups to scale the customer journey from discovery through renewal
- Design onboarding, training, and development programs focusing on technical storytelling, Postgres optimization, and customer success strategy
- Ensure the team delivers successful outcomes, unblocks adoption, and creates value for paid Team and Enterprise accounts
- Engage directly with strategic customers during critical onboarding milestones, architectural deep dives, and complex escalations
- Lead and review technical discovery phases to uncover business and technical goals and define criteria for success
- Guide staff in creating and delivering tailored platform demonstrations for high-value clients
- Assist growth personnel in sizing deals, estimating anticipated usage, and identifying supported workloads
- Define proof-of-value scopes that balance business objectives with smooth onboarding flows
- Construct reusable onboarding assets such as documentation, email sequences, templates, and webinars
- Help the team formulate account plans emphasizing near-term adoption and long-term growth opportunities
- Provide ongoing technical guidance for schema design evaluations, architecture reviews, and production workload performance tuning
- Channel customer feedback to product and engineering teams while communicating roadmap milestones back to users
Requirements
- Have at least 6 years of professional background in solutions architecture, technical account management, or database engineering
- Bring a minimum of 2 years of people management or team leadership experience, preferably within a high-growth technical startup setting
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of relational databases with a strong emphasis on PostgreSQL, including query performance, indexing, and schema design
- Possess hands-on experience constructing modern web applications utilizing frameworks like Node.js, React, Vue, or Svelte
- Communicate clearly and confidently as a technical storyteller who can distill complex topics into actionable outcomes
- Navigate stakeholder alignment, conflict resolution, and collaborative problem-solving across cross-functional teams
- Show familiarity with productivity and BI tooling such as HubSpot, BigQuery, and internal dashboards
