Job Description
Ashby is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to lead a lean team of three data analysts through a pivotal growth period. This is structured as a player-coach role requiring active participation in analytical projects alongside people management. The successful candidate will help the team scale its data practices, navigate the implications of artificial intelligence, and transition from broad shared context to meaningful domain specialization. The position sits at a growing B2B SaaS company that operates in a multi-product, global environment.
The role suits a professional with exceptional analytical judgment and hands-on experience across the modern data stack. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with raw and modeled data, writing SQL queries, and utilizing cloud data warehouses and business intelligence tools. This position is a strong match for individuals who view data as one tool among many for resolving uncertainty, rather than relying exclusively on automated metrics or default dashboards.
Ashby operates with a transparent data culture and an operating philosophy that prioritizes principled thinking. The hiring process includes a screening call, technical evaluations, a mini analysis assessment, final round interviews with team members and a founder, and a debrief with the hiring manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of three data analysts, including two core analysts and one revenue operations analyst
- Identify, hire, and assess future team members
- Develop and improve data practices for work prioritization, knowledge sharing, and quality maintenance
- Guide the team through the transition from broad shared context to meaningful specialization
- Explore and evaluate AI tools, workflows, and partnerships relative to analytical work
- Participate hands-on in analytical work, including building dbt models, writing SQL, and creating internal data products
- Collaborate directly with business partners across the company to triage and assess data requests
Requirements
- Exceptional analytical judgment to calibrate the depth and rigor of analyses
- Ability to produce transparent, rigorous analysis with clear problem context and conclusions
- Strong visual and written communication skills for presenting complex data clearly
- Deep hands-on SQL experience
- Working fluency with dbt-style data modeling, cloud data warehouses, and BI tools
- Experience leading, managing, or functionally acting as a manager for data practitioners in high-growth companies
- Product-manager-like instinct for uncovering core needs behind requests and understanding business context
- Familiarity with B2B SaaS industry workflows and organizational structures
Qualifications
- Formal people-management experience

- Monthly education budget of 100 dollars, with larger items like conferences covered upon manager approval
