The company is hiring a remote Database Support Engineer to join the Support Team within APAC time zones on a full-time basis.
In this position, you will help developers resolve intricate challenges, build reliably, and maximize the utility of the platform. The role involves working closely with customers and engineering groups to elevate product quality and developer experience. Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve advanced customer issues involving Postgres, Auth, Row Level Security, Storage, Realtime, Edge Functions, and client libraries
- Provide proactive guidance to optimize workloads and advise advanced users
- Reproduce software bugs, isolate root causes, propose workarounds, and escalate to engineering with clear reproduction steps
- Ask targeted questions to turn incomplete user reports into actionable cases
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with users during time-sensitive situations
- Identify patterns across tickets to recommend product, tooling, and documentation enhancements
- Mentor junior team members to help elevate support quality
Requirements
- Have 7 or more years of experience in technical support, databases, backend engineering, SRE, or related fields
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of PostgreSQL internals including autovacuum, WAL growth, long-running transactions, and table bloat
- Show strength in high-performance SQL and query optimization
- Feel comfortable troubleshooting complex setups like multi-tenant schemas and distributed system behavior
- Possess experience with data migrations and safety recovery methods
- Have hands-on familiarity with cloud hosting providers such as AWS and terminal or Linux environments
- Be located within APAC time zones
